Valley Hatchery migrates from BigCommerce to WooCommerce
Recently Valley Hatchery engaged Creative Intelligence to migrate their whole site from BigCommerce to WooCommerce. Quite a unique business specializing in shipping live chicks and eggs to any customer in mainland USA. A large number of products and customers needed to be included in the BigCommerce to WooCommerce migration.
The owner wanted Creative Intelligence to preserve much of the current user interface, but give the site a cleaner and more modern feel whilst still using the same images (mostly). We are pleased with the results.
Although most of the functionality is normal for an eCommerce site of this type, there are many shipping rules that need to be implemented during the ordering process with regard to minimum quantities by category and product type.
The domain is registered with GoDaddy and Creative Intelligence was able to manage and time the necessary changes to the Domain DNS records for a seamless changeover during the BigCommerce to WooCommerce migration.
Particular attention was given to preserving SEO authority throughout the migration. The excellent Rank Math plug-in was used in WooCommerce to upload all the necessary 301 redirects along with the mapping of BigCommerce slugs to WooCommerce Product URL’s.
